Anglia in Bloom 2014 triumph!

Swaffham enjoyed great success again this year at the Anglia in Bloom awards presented at the splendid Ocean Room ballroom in Gorleston. Awarded a Higher Silver overall, special praise was given to the gardening efforts in Swaffham by individuals, businesses, organisations and local authorities. The local service of the national charity Family Action gained two special nominations gaining recognition for their work at the ESCAPE and Swaffham Orchard projects which both work with vulnerable adults and local school children at Tumbler Hill allotments. The Orchard project was overall winner in the Best Grow Your Own Award 2014 beating other worthwhile initiatives from all over East Anglia. Anglia in Bloom judges commented that the Family Action projects had long been admired and that special recognition was given to their ongoing development and planned sustainability of the enterprises.
