Learn traditional skills...

In addition to regular Monday to Friday sessions, the project hosts a wide variety of workshops on traditional skills such as willow weaving, green woodwork, beekeeping, grafting, pruning, preserving and making herbal remedies. Priority is given to regular project participants, but any spare places are open to the wider public, so please let us know if you are interested (Contact Us). Upcoming workshops include:

  • Christmas Meet and Eat: Wednesday 2nd December. Parish Rooms, Campingland. Time TBC

  • Orchard care, led by Bob Lever: Sunday 31st January, 10am-3pm. Covering formative pruning of apple and pear trees, sward management, pests and diseases.

  • Basket making: date to be confirmed.

Making obelisks and garden ornaments out of willow is a regular activity at the project over the winter months, and we will be making wreaths a bit closer to Christmas too, so if you are interested in learning how to do this please get in touch and we can let you know when to come along. We can light our lovely cob oven as well if you bring something to put in it!

Our sister project, ESCAPE, also offers a Level 1 Award in Horticulture, certified by the National  Open College Network. This course is currently running every Wednesday. Please contact Karen Bek on 01760 720302 for information on this course.

Please support us by attending our public events too!
